eBay UK is to launch its first UK pop-up store in London this December. The pop-up Christmas boutique is organised by brand experience agency Push UK, an arm of communications company Shine
which is owned by eBay.
Located in a former office unit on London’s Dean Street each product in the store - including the paint on the walls - will have a QR code on it which can be scanned by a smart phone to link to the product on eBay.
A ‘just browsing area’ will feature various items including iPads where visitors can browse eBay’s online store.
Push UK managing director Dan Stanton stated that: "There are two dynamic window displays featuring a golden QR code which is the deal of the day and is exclusive to the store."
He added: "I think the main reason for the store is to educate the small percentage of the public who perhaps don’t use online shopping, to show them how easy it is. They can see the functionality of the site, speak to expert store staff and learn about QR codes, which have become increasingly popular."
