eBay UK have recently implemented a new shopping basket feature to its site
which it hopes will turn from a trial to useful feature for all users.
Registered users can 'Opt-in' in to try this new shopping experience for themselves
simply by Adding The Shopping Basket Feature.
According to an eBay representative the shopping basket will make it easier for
buyers to:
- Compare the total price of items
- Take advantage of shipping discounts
- Pay for multiple items from multiple sellers in one simple checkout flow
Commenting on the new feature eBay states "The basket supports both fixed price and auction-style listings from all eBay sellers in a single site-wide shopping basket
experience. For fixed price listings, the “Add to basket” button replaces “Buy It Now” on the item page, and buyers have to
check out and pay for the item in order to purchase it. Until the payment is made, the item can be purchased by another buyer."
Inital feedback from some of our readers is that this is a welcomed and long overdue new feature that should
help not only buyers but sellers too. Although initially the new feature is being trialled on the eBay UK site it is
anticipated that should it be a success it will quickly be rolled out internationally.
Opt-in now to try this new feature!
