eBay ranked top online retailer in UK
eBay was the most popular online retailer in the UK this Christmas, says a study by market research firm Nielsen Online.
eBay was visited by an average of 15m Britons per month in November and December.
Three of the five most popular retailers online were pure online players (eBay, Amazon and Play.com) whilst high street retailers accounted for seven of the ten most popular. [Read Full Article]

Reading this article closely, it is judging sites by the number of visitors, and that doesn't necessarily translate into actual money spent. For example if you were bidding on an item on eBay you might visit the site several times during the course of the auction. Certainly I visited eBay several times at Christmas and bought nothing. I visited Amazon a couple of times and spent a sizeable amount. That's why I think this type of report can be unintentionally a bit misleading. |
