Virgin Enters The Auction Market
Renowned international company Virgin recently announced that it had entered the auction market with its Virgin Wines
division. The new auction service will allow customers to bid against each other for a variety of different cases of wine.
A limited number of auctions will be available with some lots closing in hours or more often days. Additional innovative
auctions will also be displayed such as "sixty second auctions" and more. All cases auctioned are apparently covered by
their normal customer promise i.e. they will refund you if you don't like the wine, and aim to deliver 99%
of all orders in 7 days. Founded in 2000, Virgin Wines claims to be Europe's largest independent wine retailer, with more than 400,000 customers.

Yahoo US Auctions - going, going, gone!
After recent announcements Yahoo is in the final days of shutting down its auction service in the US and Canada.
With all auctions due to close by the 16th June it's time to say goodbye to this auction player.
Yahoo warned users to be vigilant for scams over the last days of the auction service. The company advised users to know
who they are dealing with and to carefully study terms of sale and payment options before bidding on an item.
Yahoo have been consolidating its operations in recent months in an attempt to focus on its core business.
Despite the United States & Canadian closures they will still continue with their auction presence in Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan.

eBay jewellery store fined $400,000 for shill bidding...
A jewellery company which allegedly bid on its own eBay auctions to "illegally drive up prices by as much as 20 per cent" will pay
$400,000 (£204,000) in "restitution and penalties", Reuters reports. The New York state attorney general's office said Ezra Dweck
of EMH Group and his employees made over 232,000 bids on auctions in the company's Jewellery by Ezra eBay store. The store regularly
held no-reserve auctions, but Dweck "ensured his employees knew of which auctions to bid at along with a predetermined price".
