The Tesco Outlet Store which features new & refurbished electrical items including TVs, digital cameras, vacuum cleaners and iPods from brands such as Sony, Philips and Samsung, went live this week.

Tesco Outlet is wholly owned and managed by Tesco Stores Ltd but operates independently, meaning they are able to offer products that are not available in store.

"We have launched it to offer customers the opportunity to purchase refurbished products that are not available in our stores," a spokesman confirmed in an interview with consumer magazine the Grocer.

The Tesco Outlet Store states:

"At Tesco Outlet you can purchase new and refurbished items. All items are sold with a 12 month Tesco Outlet Warranty. The new items are products that were previously available through Tesco stores or Tesco Direct but have now been discontinued. They come complete with all the necessary parts and accessories and are still in their original packaging. In some instances the packaging may be damaged, but don't let that put you off! The product inside will be pristine."

eBay have in recent months increased the visibility of its Outlet Stores offering with several prominent brands and high street shops opening outlets. Argos, Littlewoods Clearance, Debenhams, Dyson, Morphpy Richards are just a few that have recently opened stores on one of the biggest shopping platforms available.
