Free Auction Tools provider Auctionlotwatch.co.uk announced today its annual predictions
for what will be the most popular Christmas toys on eBay this year. Based on industry source predictions & current searches the list highlights some past
favourites.
With Christmas fast approaching now is a great time to start looking for & buying this
years hot Christmas toys.
In previous years high demand and short supply often meant
frustrating trips to the high street combined with paying inflated prices for those
must have toys. The advice from the industry specialists this year is clear - to avoid
disappointment make sure you do your Christmas shopping early.
Online consumers have also become more savvy - using technology to ensure that they not
only have the convenience but also access to the best prices available. Trying to get
the most out of the Christmas budget is every parents goal but it's especially important
in this current economic climate.
It is estimated that internet sales account for around a tenth of all shopping in the UK,
and this figure is expected to rise in 2012. In December 2011 UK consumers spent almost
£8 billion online on Christmas presents. The significance of eBay to the UK market cannot
be underestimated - its UK site has nearly as many visitors every month as London’s Oxford
Street, at 17 million versus the West End’s 18 million.
With eBay launching a big Christmas ad campaign on the TV, mobile and online it will
definately be a prominent venue for shoppers looking for an early bargain.
This year it is expected that Santa's list will dominated by techy toys - including the
return of some very familiar favourites that have had a full tech makeover. In 1998 the
world was introduced to the Furby range - cute, talkative and very popular they dominated
many children's wish lists across the world. Now its back - the all new Furby 2012 however
comes with its own smartphone and tablet app, allowing for a much more interactive experience.
Those in the toy trade also predict that tablets are also going to be huge this Christmas and
for many more to come. Offerings by market leaders Vtech & Leapfrog have all earned rave reviews from
technology pundits. Many of the tablets have child friendly enhancements that allow parents
the ability to restrict or control certain features as appropriate for their child. Some tablets
can also be set to switch off automatically after a child's bedtime which may be a blessing
for some parents.
